Need a pill? Run to nearby Post office!

If the initiatives of OPPI (Organisation of Pharmaceutical Producers of India) work out, soon you (if you are in India) can get your pills (OTC only) at your post office.

Economic times reports

Over-the-counter (OTC) drugs may soon be available in post offices across the country if an initiative by the drug makers and the government fructify. In a bid increase the access of essential drugs to consumers, pharma companies are in talks with the government to use post offices to sell OTC drugs.

Drug makers are obviously looking at the wide reach of post offices, which have a presence in nooks and corners of the country. Post office is struggling to maintain the dwindling revenues after reduced postal use among Indians. Do you see a win-win situation here??
