Ranbaxy lost its appeal against the high court decision in US supreme court in a bid to market the generic version of Lipitor.
As per the ruling, Lipitor, the multi-billion dollar drug, will be protected by the patent till 2010. This is a key win for Pfizer which is going through tough times otherwise.
